Circle B Campground, Angola, Indiana

Campground Review from Amy

About.com Rating four out of Five

By David Sweet, About.com

I found out about this campground driving by, and I tent camped there in July 2007.

Describe your camping trip:

My family and I have stayed here at least twice a year, every year since 2004. When we stay here it's usually my immediate family as well as my extended family (aunt, uncles, grandmother and cousins). We have children ages 1-15 and everyone has something to keep them busy all weekend (usually Friday - Monday). They have a very clean beach. I have personally seen maintenance out at 6 am raking the beach of weeds that have been washed up during the night. They have fun items in the lake for the kids: trampoline and water slide. They have canoes and kayaks for rent at a reasonable rate, which we rent everytime we stay. They have golf carts you can rent (limited number) to ride around the campground sightseeing, visiting or enjoying the camp-wide yard sale or the golf cart poker run. We usually pitch our tents, but we have rented the cabins and they are very reasonable and nice. I would, and do, recommend this campground to everyone that loves camping. The last time we stayed was July 4th weekend 2007, and their fireworks were better than some small towns, very unexpected. Excellent.
Pros: Plenty of activities to keep everyone from the very young to the very young at heart busy. Quiet, clean and close enough to town to run to get the extras you may have forgotten.

Cons: Because there is so much to do, we enjoy renting the golf carts, but they have a limited number so you must request early and they are just a little expensive.
Nearby attractions: Fun Spot Amusement Park, Angola Speedway, inside go-cart track, many public lakes, drive-in movie theatre (approximately 20 miles away north and south), Fremont Prime Outlet Stores, Shippshewana (approximately 20 miles west).
Further comments: We have also purchased their meat from the camp store, and their rib-eye steaks are very good. The very small airport across the street has sky-divers/gliders on the weekends.
