I found out about this campground from friends and on the Internet, and I RV camped there in June 2008.

Describe your camping trip:

The campground has 51 sites, 49 are lakeside. All have water and electric service, picnic tables, in ground fire pits and cooking grills. Our campsite was a spacious pull-through located not far from the bath house. We faced Hartwell Dam and the deep water of the lake.
Pros: The campground is a family place with swings and other equipment for children. There is a boat launch and a swim at your risk beach. The bath houses are clean, and all interior roads are paved. Our site was probably a quarter of an acre large. It slopped to the lakefront with steps to reach the lake.

Cons: The biggest problem is summertime sugar ants. Go equipped and spray immediately on arrival. They are bad.
Nearby attractions: The city of Hartwell, Lake Hartwell, which is one of the largest man-made lakes in the eastern half of the US. Less than 50 miles from Clemson University and the University of Georgia.
Further comments: Reservations available and recommended. A wonderful place to visit. We recommend it and plan to visit again.

My Experience September 2009September 16, 2009By FNBowden
"I have been going to Watsadler in Hart, Georgia since 2001 when I bought my new R.V. It had been a very enjoyable event to go to the lake and have a wonderful time doing one of my favorites . This last visit September 2009 made me not want to ever go back to that campground. I had made reservations for seven nights stay and had to transfer to another site for the last two nights. I told the attendant at the gate, Mrs. Mabry my situation when I checked in for my first five day stay and she said to come back when date to transfer. After my first five day stay , the new occupant for my site thought check in time was two o’clock instead of three o’clock and they arrived early. Mrs. Mabry sent them back out. She accused me of being late checking out of my old site. I left my camp site at two o’clock and when I arrived at gate to make the transfer, Mrs. Mabry really did in plain simple language , handle my situation in a hateful and unpleasant way. She actually talked to me like a Nanny would scold a child. Mrs. Mabry told me that I was to leave out pulling my R.V. at main gate turn around down the road and then come back through the entrance and check in for my last two nights stay. I told her “NO WAY”. I will never go back to that Watsadler Park any more. Also the grounds around the campsites have small pieces of trash and old cigarette butts. Appears grounds have not been raked all season. I did stay one night at the campsite that I transferred to and the more I thought about the situation, I left early and did not stay the last night that I had paid for."
