I found out about this campground on the Internet, and I RV camped there in May 2008.

Describe your camping trip:

This was our maiden voyage with our new pop-up camper. The campground was very quiet. Not many people there that weekend. The staff was wonderful and even helped to direct us with backing into our site. They were always stopping when they saw you to ask if everything was okay and if they could help with anything. Everything was within easy walking distance, and the creek area was beautiful (although tons of poison ivy in some areas).
Pros: The staff was wonderful and great with the kids. There were tons of activities the weekend we were there, and our five year old was never bored. The sites were nice and level.

Cons: The entrance road is not clearly marked. We actually missed it the first time, and the road needs to be upgraded, which they say is on the list of things to be done shortly. It was full of potholes and thanks to an all day rain on the day we arrived, mud puddles galore. By the time we reached our site, we looked as if we had been mud bogging. The bathrooms were not very clean, although the ones in the middle of the campground were in better shape than the ones at the entrance. The game room was also disappointing as it only contained the crane-type games rather than true games for kids. But nothing stood out as totally unacceptable or that would stop us from returning.
Nearby attractions: Nimble Hill Winery
Further comments: We had a great trip and are looking forward to our return trip in June. We originally chose this campground because of the types of cabins they had available and the family oriented theme. We booked the cabin but then unexpectedly purchased a camper. When I called to change the reservations, the staff was very nice, but their strict cancellation/refund policy was not very accommodating. When we booked the cabin, we paid in full for the weekend thinking it would be easier. However, with their strict refund policy, you can only get credit for this year. So in essence, we had to book two separate trips, because of the difference between the cabin and the camper site. I was not impressed with their policy since we were not actually cancelling but just changing the type of reservation. However, for the future, I know not to pay in full for the reservation from the beginning. All in all, we had a great time and the owners made themselves very involved and present in the campground. We actually felt like we were their invited guests during our stay. It made for a very enjoyable time.
