I found out about this campground on visitnc.com, and I tent camped there in may 2008.
Describe your camping trip:
The campground is very clean. The bath houses were spotless. The staff was very friendly and full of great information and southern hospitality. The tent sites are very well shaded, and our tent is 18 x 12 and we had plenty of room. The site is porous with a fire ring, lantern hanger and picnic table. All close to the bath house, and it has a laundry room and outside sink for doing dishes. The rest rooms are handicap accessible. The camp store is reasonable and the planned activities are great. There are extra costs for some of the activities that the Web site doesn't state. Gem mining is $8 per person, fishing should you keep them is ?$ by the pound, golf cart rentals are available. Brunch or any activity other than the evening dances with Yogi and Booboo are extra as well. All are reasonable. The pools are excellent, and the splash zone is great. Water wars is a separate cost as well. The water slide was not open, due to the dangerous outcome of the staffs trial runs. If it is open, it will be extra as well. We had the best time.
Pros: Tent sites are spotless, well kept, and bath house has all the comforts of home. Pools are great. Staff the best in the world.
Cons: If you want to go with an RV, most sites are open to the wind, sun and storms.

Nearby attractions: Myrtle Beach, SC is close by as is Wilmington, NC.
Further comments: We are going back for the weekend of the 4th of July. If you get the chance come and visit. Mapquest directions are pretty accurate, except for people coming south on 701. Make sure you go to the second Richard Wright Road just past the Economy Inn to turn left. Trust me.
