I found out about this campground from a family friend, and I camped there in September 2008.

Describe your camping trip:

A family campground just above the York River basin.
Pros: Clean facilities. A safe environment for a family.

Cons: Extremely poor customer service. Staff was rude, unprofessional, and failed to resolve issues to our satisfaction. After our reservation was made, they called back to tell us there was a three night minimum. We reluctantly agreed, because they were not willing to refund our deposit. They later called back to inform us there was a price increase and that we needed to pay in full weeks before our arrival. We again reluctantly agreed, because they would not refund our deposit and stated "we have a waiting list so if you don't want to stay then don't stay." Their policies seem to change with the tides of the York River.
Nearby attractions: Yorktown, Busch Gardens, Water Country.
Further comments: I would highly discourage anyone from doing business with this campground. Additionally, we spoke to numerous seasonal residents who are pulling out over some of the same issues we had. There are far too many campgrounds to enjoy in the Virginia area without having to stay here.

"We had a very pleasant experience when we camped there the first week of October 2009. Since it was off-season it was very quiet during the week with not many campers around. Families started coming in Friday so it was a little more disruptive with children around but still pleasant. The showers were clean and the staff friendly. There are several sites with full hook ups and a few pull through sites. We will definitely go back there again."
