We found this campground when we went to a nearby waterfalls, and we tent camped there in July 2008.

Describe your camping trip:

The cleanest bathrooms I have ever seen at a campground (public or private!). Owned by the Cradle Of Forestry, right on South Toe River. Lots of hiking trails along with Mt. Mitchell with a 3400+ elevation gain. Some sites have recently been upgraded and are handicap accessible. A great place to get away from it all.
Pros: Hot pay showers, clean bathrooms, great hosts, ice and firewood for sale on site.

Cons: none
Nearby attractions: South Toe River, Setrock Falls, Mt. Mitchell Trail, Green Knob Look Out Tower.
Further comments: What a deal for $16 a night. This was the cleanest campground we have been to. Beautiful.
