I had passed this campground many times as I was traveling over the North Cascade Mountains on my way over to Winthrop, Washington. We decided to camp there one weekend instead of driving all the way over to Winthrop. We RV camped there in July 2008.
Describe your camping trip:
The campground is located in the beautiful North Cascade Mountains with some of the most spectacular views I have ever seen. There are hiking trails that take you to the river's edge, an old Indian cave, and a suspension foot bridge that leads into the town of Newhalem. We spent most of out time playing games, hiking and riding our mountain bikes.
Pros: The location is one of the most beautiful places in the world.
Cons: They don't have the best tent pads. The first time we stayed there we were tent camping and after a heavy rain storm moved through one night we woke up with water in out tent.
