I looked this campground up in Tom Stiensra's Pacific Northwest Camping book, and I tent camped there in September 2008.
Describe your camping trip:
We are interested in Lewis and Clark, and they have a beautiful Interpretive Center there regarding their journey. There is a lighthouse, beach access and hiking trails.
Pros: Good sized campsites. A camp store, lots to do. Two nearby towns with restaurants. Nice bathrooms with showers. Mostly tent campers.
Cons: It can get windy and cold here. Lewis and Clark wouldn't camp here, because of the weather. One day a few campers had their tents blow over. Make sure to stake your tents!

Nearby attractions: Lewis and Clark museums, lighthouses, watching the ships enter the Columbia River, very dangerous waters.
Further comments: Really nice people, great if somewhat remote state park, great hikes, beautiful views, near Discovery Trail.
