I found out about this campground at the state Visitor Center, and I tent camped there in September 2008.

Describe your camping trip:

Friendly, helpful staff. There were deer in the meadow of the campground. There is miniature golf. The rates were reasonable. The sites were well maintained. The only drawback was lack of water at every site.
Pros: Location, cleanliness of campground, campground personnel and store, price.

Cons: Water not available at every site, no sink to wash dishes.
Nearby attractions: Washington DC, Pohick Bay recreation area, many historical sites and a waterpark.
Further comments: The campground is located just 25 miles from Washington DC and ten minutes from the Metro Station. There were signs on the Interstate and at every important intersection. Getting there was easy even for somebody like us from out of state. The rates were reasonable.
