I've been going here for years, and I RV camped there in July 2008.

Describe your camping trip:

The RV sites are well maintained, have hot showers available and are shaded by pine trees. There is a large covered pavilion in the Stevens Gap area, which can accommodate a large group for cookouts, meetings, etc.
Pros: It's a very beautiful spot close to Broken Bow reservoir. You can rent boats or jet skis at the marina. The marina is full service with everything from gas to groceries and bait. The fishing is very good on this lake, and it is very large, so you can get away from the crowds and ski or pleasure cruise. This is fast becoming a "go to" destination for campers and boaters in all the neighboring states. If you don't want to camp, there are numerous rental cabins in the Hochatown area, which range from primitive to luxurious. There are spots where you can ride your ATVs north of the lake and enjoy nature at its finest. All in all, it's one of the prettiest most relaxing places to visit I have ever been to. Most people not from this area are surprised that something this nice is here in southeast Oklahoma.

Cons: Can't think of anything bad about it.
Nearby attractions: Beaver's Bend State Park, Mountain Fork River, trout fishing, ATV riding areas. There is a beautiful golf course, Cedar Creek, that has holes that border the lake. Talimena National Scenic Highway is about 40 miles north and is beautiful year round, but especially famous for its fall foliage.
Further comments: Come visit and you will be coming back every chance you get!
