We found out about this campground in the State Parks guide, and we RV camped there in April 2009.

Describe your camping trip:

All the sites are great, the view of the water is terrific and you'll love the playground and fishing. There are plenty of ways to catch fish as there's a fish hatchery with five or six ponds you can fish in. There's plenty of room to drop your boat in the water and the fire rings are huge, as well as your site. The store has plenty of things to buy for the family and lots of fishing poles and bike helmets for the kids to borrow. There is all kinds of sports equipment to borrow as well, and the staff is super friendly. Everything was very clean and safe.
Pros: The sites had great spacing, and it was small enough to enjoy the surroundings.

Cons: We had to wait to dump as we left close to check out time. Only certain sites are reservable. All the others are first come first serve, but it turned out fine for us.
Nearby attractions: Lake Burton.
Further comments: We all enjoyed this state park a lot. Site number 20 is really long, if you have a big rig. We stayed in site 12 with a 40 foot RV, and we had plenty of room.
