We found out about this campground while visiting relatives. We bought a fifth wheel here. The campground is just down the road from the RV sales. Also, it's a Good Sam park. We RV camped there in July 2008 and May 2009.
Describe your camping trip:
This campground is blessed with trees and a small lake where you can fish without a license, well-graveled roads and sites clear of limbs, leaves and debris of all kinds. It's immaculate. Each site has a picnic table and a fire pit, too. There is also a small playground for the kids, plenty of walking space in grassy areas for pets, as well as a game room. It's easy-off/easy-on from Interstates 57/70, too.
Pros: In addition to the above, there's a little store in the office/game room area for immediate necessities. The laundry and showers are roomy, clean, and have great water pressure. Wi-F, cable TV, and friendly hosts, as well as reasonable prices, make this a relaxing and welcoming place. It's also close to Wal-Mart, Menards, numerous restaurants and shopping areas. Effingham is easy to get around in.
Cons: There's no swimming pool or hot tub, but under these trees, it doesn't get steamy hot anyway. I couldn't think of any other con than that, and it's no big deal to me.

Nearby attractions: There's golfing, antique/craft shops, an automotive museum, Amish country, gardens, nature centers, a Corvette fun-fest in September, a VW fun-fest in May or June to name just a few.
Further comments: Since Brian and Vanessa have owned this park, they've added two delightful little cabins, extended most of the sites' parking pads, are re-surfacing the access road, and trying to anticipate any other needs their guests may have.
