I found out about this campground from a family member, and I tent camped there in August 2008.
Describe your camping trip:
Nicely shaded sites. The campground was once an old apple orchard; there are a few trees left. Not a horrible camp area, if you don't mind crowds or roads.
Pros: You're right on Lake Michigan! Nice trails and beach to hike.
Cons: You are right up against a 45 mph road (loud at night). Smaller sites with people jammed in (boat, RV, Pick-up, and car jammed into a site).
Cons: You are right up against a 45 mph road (loud at night). Smaller sites with people jammed in (boat, RV, Pick-up, and car jammed into a site).
Nearby attractions: There are great towns in the Northwest Lower Peninsula. Beulah, anyone?
Further comments: This campground's saving grace is Lake Michigan. That being said, I am certain there are better places to stay on the lake.
