I had local knowledge about this campground, and I RV camped there in July 2009.

Describe your camping trip:

We have camped at our local Gordon's many times over the past 10 years. We generally enjoy setting up camp in the back area near the center circle, where there's plenty of room for family and friends to join.
Pros: Inground pool and park.

Cons: Campground is under new ownership with the management team not well signified. Speed limit was not controlled and golf carts were numerous. Sites were not marked, therefore campers and cars were scattered everywhere. This created hazardous situations for children. Seasonal campers were rude and running the show. Bathrooms and showers were not kept clean in a timely manner throughout the 3 day weekend. Some of the campsites are reserved for parking of the seasonal campers vehicles, although this is not marked; thus requiring you to relocate camp, if complaints.
Nearby attractions: Big Long Lake, City of Kendallville with Bixler Lake and campground.
Further comments: Under new management, this camground has been running off campers for the past year. Seems like the preference of new management is to have seasonal campers only.

My family and I used to camp at Gordon's for years. Now that the campground is under new ownership it has gone down hill. It is unorganized and chaotic. It use to be more family oriented now it is one big party. I am very disappointed with my experience.
