I grew up nearby, but had never camped there. Friends had recommended we stay there. I was there in July 2009.

This campground was recommended by friends, so we drove through to take a look before committing, and are very glad we did. We are not fans of sunny, grassy campsites, and this was all that was available.
Pros: Beautiful beach, hiking trails and excellent playground provide lots of activities.
Cons: We found absolutely nothing appealing about any of the campsites. While there are trees, the sites are very much open and grassy without much shade or privacy.

Further comments: We were so turned off by the campsites we have crossed this park off our list as a camping destination.
