I found this campground through the Georgia state park Web site, and I tent camped there in July 2009.

Describe your camping trip:

Beautiful campground with lots of trees and a lake. We camped in a tent on site 89. The site had a trail leading down to the lake, where we swam. There is also a designated swimming beach, but it was far enough away that a car or bicycle was needed, so we opted to swim close to our campsite. Most campsites are located on the water's edge, but are pretty close together. The bathroom was clean and has a hot shower. You can buy ice, soda, candy bars and firewood at the campground office. The staff are friendly. There is also a bait shop about a mile down the road.
Pros: The pros were the beautiful lake views, swimming, lots of trees to provide shade, seeing wildlife, and having clean bath rooms and a hot shower nearby. Also, another pro is that leashed dogs are allowed.

Cons: The park charges five dollars per vehicle, which is not included in the online reservation payment. So be prepared to fork over a little more money when you arrive. Also, the campgrounds are a little too close together.

Further comments: There were lots of deer and other wildlife.
