This campground is close to home and we have been going there for years as a quick easy get away, and we RV camped there in September 2009.
Describe your camping trip:
Depending on the water level, the campsites can be very close to the water or just a short walk away. There are spots with trees for adequate shade and some with a little more sun, if you prefer. There are some spots that can be reserved and some that are first come, first serve.
Pros: The sites are large with most having a good view of the lake. It is a great lake to kayak and fish, since there is a low speed limit on the lake. If you are into dirt bikes or quads, this is a good campground for those activities with trails leading from camp.
Cons: The camp host was extremely rude and unprofessional. She was actually falling down drunk in the evenings. The bathrooms were extremely dirty. I was very glad we had an RV. I felt sorry for the tent campers. The smell from the bathrooms was so bad that you had to roll up the windows in the car just to drive past them. The sites are very dirty and dusty. Do not camp here, if you do not want to have everything very dirty.

Nearby attractions: The lake. A lot of good mountain bike trails. Close to Truckee and somewhat close to Lake Tahoe.
Further comments: I would highly recommend that management find a new camp host for this campground. The camp hosts in the next campground past Lakeside at Prosser were very friendly and helpful.
