I found out about this campground on the Fort Davis Web site, and I cabin camped there in September 2009.
Describe your camping trip:
There are about 10 cabins, which were originally soldiers' living quarters from the mid-1900s. The owner, Dave, has redone them with beautiful wood work. They have showers, microwave, mini-fridge, and cable TV. The beds have been replaced within the last few years with temper-pedic-like mattresses, which are very comfortable.
Pros: Dave is very accommodating. I have always needed to check in late at night and then check out late, and he has always allowed me to do so.
Cons: It has always been enjoyable.
Cons: It has always been enjoyable.
Nearby attractions: Mt. Locke.
Further comments: I have gove to Fort Davis the last four years for the Cyclefest, and I have stayed here each time.
