I found out about this campground on the Internet, and I RV camped there in October 2009.

Describe your camping trip:

This campground is run by the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Dept. While it was a well landscaped park and the sites were large, there was no full time attendant. The bathroom contained two showers, but were not the cleanest. They did have new fire rings and playground sets for the kids. We were able to check in by phone and got an email invoice. This campground is on the southern side of Lake Okeechobee. Of most of the campgrounds I visited around that lake, this was the cleanest.
Pros: Not crowded. Although this was October in Florida, the sites were well kept and cemented.

Cons: Lake Okeechobee was the only near attraction. No nearby stores or eating places. You had to go up and around the lake to find more.
Nearby attractions: Lake Okeechobee.
Further comments: Nice clean sites. No sewer at site.

South Bay is Top Notch!, Member Funfinder139

South Bay RV Park has FREE wifi, FREE cable, and sewer on every site. There are numerous places to fish right on the property and is right next to the famous Lake Okeechobee. It's a beautiful, very well-maintained park with trees and water, a basketball court, an air conditioned rec center, two stations with bathrooms and hot showers and laundry rooms, a vending machine. The sites are spacious and angled, so you have wonderful privacy. The concrete pads are huge and level. There are double sites for people with big RV's and/or boats. We were given a great site with a view of Shiner Lake. It was very quiet at night where we were, although it appears some sites are close to the main road. The staff is friendly and so are the people at the camp and around town. It's a park the Palm Beach County should really be proud of. It's a real jewel! And--last but not least--we paid less at South Bay than we have at parks with much less to offer. We live in Lee County and LOVED SOUTH BAY RV PARK! This Christmas was our first time but definitely not our last! Try it; you'll like it!
