We found out about this campground while traveling the Great River Road, and we RV camped there in July 2009.
Describe your camping trip:
This is an island campground with three camping areas. Some sites are reservation and some are first come first serve. It is right on the Mississippi River and absolutely beautiful. The water birds are fantastic to watch. Showers are great. There are also pit toilets for busy times although we have never had to use them. Electricity at majority of sites with paved roads and sites.
Pros: Fishing, level sites, scenic, turtles hatching in September, just everything.
Cons: Windy on the point during storms.
Cons: Windy on the point during storms.
Nearby attractions: small hometown restaurants, laundry, Great River Road, vegetable market.
Further comments: Only a few tent sites, but they are level and scenic.
