Did you know that the Wilderness Act will celebrate its 50th birthday on September 4, 2014? Four federal agencies manage the 756 designated Wilderness Areas in the United States that protect more than 100 million acres of land. That’s a lot of natural landscape for outdoors enthusiasts to enjoy thanks to the Wilderness Act of 1964!
