Did you know that the Wilderness Act will celebrate its 50th birthday on September 4, 2014? Four federal agencies manage the 756 designated Wilderness Areas in the United States that protect more than 100 million acres of land. That’s a lot of natural landscape for outdoors enthusiasts to enjoy thanks to the Wilderness Act of 1964!

The readers nominated some of the best wilderness areas in the United States for a camping award, now its your turn to decide the best.

Campers love the Canadian wilderness, and there are 44 national parks in Canada with pristine wilderness for camping. The campers nominated their favorite Canadian National Parks for camping, but now it's time to vote.
