Guide Review - Vortex Hand Crank Blender
Who needs electricity? You can use this hand blender just like the electric blender in your kitchen at home. The hand crank can be inserted into either of two gear positions, which provide low speed or high speed action. The low speed is great for food processing, chopping vegetables, and basic blending. The high speed is best for chopping ice and making smoother textured blends, like shakes and frozen margaritas. The 1.5 liter pitcher is made of durable Lexan® and has a pour through lid, which houses a built-in shot glass. The unit weighs about 5 pounds empty, and the base fits inside the pitcher for easy storage. A C-clamp secures the base to a solid surface for stability while blending. I bought mine at Campmor on 4/18/2006 for $49.99.
