A camping recipe from Jennifer. Who says you can't enjoy pizza at the campground?
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 25 minutes
Ingredients:
- 2 or 3 Boboli pizza crusts
- 1 12-ounce can tomato paste
- 2 cups water
- 2/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- salt and ground black pepper, to taste
- 16 ounces mozzarella cheese
- favorite pizza toppings (pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, onions, etc.)
Preparation:
At home: Mix tomato paste, water, oil, herbs and spives before you go camping. This sauce stores easily in a Ziploc bag or container. At camp: Spoon tomato sauce over the pizza crust. Sprinkle with cheese, but don't be heavy-handed with cheese, if you are putting toppings on it or it won't melt before the crust is done. Line the grill with aluminum foil leaving a small portion unlined. Place pizza on grill. Its done when the cheese is melted!
