Spiced Hot Milk

A camping recipe from StoryMakingMother. We invented this recipe one night when we were down to one teaspoon of cocoa. It is very strong and feels spicy and exotic. On that cold night, it was a hit, and now we make it just for fun.

Prep Time: 7 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 12-ounce can evaporated milk
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon cocoa
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 to 8 marshmallows

Preparation:

Heat water on the stove until hot. Add evaporated milk. Then add cocoa, ground cinnamon and sugar. Stir over heat until cinnamon is mixed in well and the milk is hot. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Pour into four mugs and add one to two marshmallows to each cup.
