(A camping recipe from Helen Marie. For chocolate lovers.
Guide note: I've made these and they are appropriately named. I followed Helen Marie's instructions even though they seemed unusual. Prepare the brownies at home and reheat at the campground.
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 45 minutes
Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons Hershey's cocoa
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- dash of salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 1/2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons Hershey's cocoa
- 1 1/3 cups boiling water
Preparation:
Mix the first 8 ingredients with a wire wisk. Pour into a greased 8x8 pan. Mix the next 3 ingredients, the sugars and cocoa, and sprinkle over the batter. Now pour the boiling water slowly over that. DO NOT MIX. Bake for 45 minutes at 300 degrees. Serve warm.
