A camping recipe from David. This hearty soup can be ready in 30 minutes.

Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 15-ounce can beef broth
- 1 cup water
- 1 15-ounce can mixed vegetables
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/4 teaspoon rosemary
- 1/4 teaspoon thyme
- 1/4 cup quick barley
- salt and pepper, to taste
Preparation:
Heat a large pot, add a pinch of salt and lightly brown the hamburger. Drain grease from hamburger using a colander and dispose of grease in a proper waste recepticle. Return hamburger to the pot, add remaining ingredients, bring to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer for 10 minutes stirring occasionally. Remove bay leaf before serving.
