A camping recipe from David. The weekend weather was perfect for grilling. I barbecued some baby back ribs using a dry rub (see photo).

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Cook Time: 2 hours, 20 minutes

Total Time: 2 hours, 40 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 rack of baby back ribs
  • -
  • Rub:
  • - 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • - 1 tablespoon cayenne
  • - 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • - 1 tablespoon rosemary
  • - 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • - 1 tablespoon thyme
  • - 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • - 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • - 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • -
  • BBQ sauce (your preference)
  • lots of napkins

Preparation:

Remove membrane from back of ribs. Slice ribs into 2 portions. Place rub ingredients in a food processor and blend until fine. Rub blend into ribs thoroughly. Place ribs in an aluminum foil pan, cover and refrigerate for a day before grilling.

To grill, I placed the foil pans with the ribs on the top rack of the grill, and I set the grill to the lowest heat setting. I cooked the ribs for 2 hours. At this time I applied BBQ sauce (I use KC Masterpiece) and cooked the ribs another 20 minutes.

Servings: 2
