A camping recipe from Dan's Chuck Wagon. I like this, because it is simple and kids, along with adults, love it. Put it on a stick, and kids can eat it like a corndog.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 30 minutes

Total Time: 45 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack hotdogs
  • 1 tube cresent rolls (8)
  • (I like the flakey butter crust myself.)

Preparation:

Pre heat Dutch oven so it is somewhere around 350 degrees. Smear a little shortning around with a paper towel. Careful, it is hot. Wrap each hotdog with 1 cCresent roll triangle, leaving the hotdog ends sticking out a little. Place them in a 12-inch Dutch oven in a wagon spoke pattern. Cook with 12-14 coals on top and about 5 or so under the outter edge. Cook for about a half hour of so until the cresent rolls turn brown. Remember to turn the lid and the Dutch oven to prevent hot spots and for even cooking. When brown, take out and enjoy.

Servings: 8
