Campground Reviews from Fellow Campers
Campground name:Lake Mitchell Campground
Date of visit (mo/yr):August 2010
Location (city/state):Mitchell, South Dakota
We were disappointed in the site they had given us. After we were half way set up, they had offered to let us go to another site, but we did not wish to unhook. We pull our 24-foot travel trailer. We were next to the equipment shop, dumpster and sewer dump station. Their facilities were okay, laundry had two washers and dryers, a small playground and a lake. There were a large amount of gnats, so we set up our screen house. We were also right across from the playground. They say quiet time is 10:00, but the noise was going on until 2:00 am. Sites are close together and our site had no grass, but did have a paved pad. The staff were friendly and on the day we set up they came by with watermelon.

Pros and cons?
Close to Corn Palace and not to far to Sioux Falls. Good shower with lots of hot water and clean. The facility was very clean.
Sites are close. Quiet time is not controled. Lots of bugs, could not sit out unless in a screen room. Limited laundry facilities, two washer/dryers.
Corn Palace, Prehistoric Indian Village, Rodeo in town, close to Sioux Falls with U.S.S. South Dakota Memorial and Sertoma Butterfly House.
