We went on a family camping trip at the end of July and were really lucky to come in on the last day of the RAIN! The campground was really quiet, and the staff was accommodating. They have flush toilets and hot showers. They also rent canoes and row boats at the beach area. It was great that they had a wood and ice truck twice daily as it was hard to find any campfire wood outside of the campground. We also took a drive to Putnam Pond Campground while we were there, and are going to plan a trip there in the future. It was nice and private as well.
How did you camp?
popupHow did you find out about this campground?
Reserve America Web site, and a few friends had gone there and liked it. I also looked online for reviews.
Pros and cons?
Pros: Private site, beautiful lake, close to grocery and country stores, wood/ice truck came through twice daily.
Cons: Bathrooms and shower facility were very dirty.
Nearby attractions?
Tons of hiking nearby! Piseco Country Store was a Boars Head Deli. It is about a mile from the campground. They had amazing breakfasts and great sandwiches. Close to Schroon Lake and the village, which offers lots of shops. restaurants and bars.
