Galletin National Forest outside Emigrant, MontanaMy Review
We wanted to tent camp along a stream. This campground was approximately 11 miles from Emigrant and featured a good road. The campground had a delightful host, and each site afforded privacy. We were given the latest bear news and felt safe, because there were bearproof trash cans, food lockers and a good well-maintained bathroom. Running water was also at our camp, but I do not know about each site.
Mosquitoes were out, but there are few exceptions to this rule. The stream was full of water and the undergrowth lush. It looked like a good fishing stream, but I was unable to fish.
People were friendly and full of information. This is tent camping at its finest!

Pros and cons?
A fair drive down a dirt road cut the schedule up a little, but with planning it worked.
Nearby attractions?
Emigrant has a delightful cafe with Wi-Fi and a hardworking owner. Sunny, clean and good food. We also employed a local guide next door. Mitch Hurt is one of the senior outfitters in the area. Highly recommended.
The saloon owner prepared our hot breakfast for takeout on the river. Delightful!
