What do you write about in your camping blog?
Every Monday I post a new recipe and every Wednesday I publish campground reviews submitted by readers. Other days I may post new campground photos, review camping gear, take a camping poll, or post an article of camping advice and tips.
What gave you the idea to start a camping blog?
I never knew about blogs when I became the camping guide at About.com in 1997. They didn't come on the About scene until 2003. By that time they were a popular Web craze. About added them to our sites, and blogging became a new job requirement. By then I had a regular routine of adding content to the site, so I just began using the blog to announce the new content.

- Know how to use it.
- Be weather conscious.
- Stow food securely.
- Leave no trace.
- Obey campground rules.
- Respect your neighbors.
