What do you write about in your camping blog?
We share our experiences with campgrounds both public and private, history of the areas we travel through, tips on RV travel and occasional recipes developed for Dutch oven cookery or the limited resources one has in an RV.
What gave you the idea to start a camping blog?
We primarily blog for family and friends, as we are on the road six months out of the year, and traveling around Texas for the remainder of the year. We prefer to travel to some unusual places, often too primitive for some travelers, and we want want to share the interesting and scenic features with folks who either can't travel to such remote areas, or just prefer not to get so far off the beaten path. Not all of our destinations are remote, as we also visit state parks and private campgrounds, so there's a little something for everyone.
Advice
- Plan for all eventualities - extra food and water, insect repellent, and take along a few field guides especially if you have children. Help them learn about birds, weather, rocks, whatever they are interested in. Busy children are happy campers!
