Set the stage
We avoid camping on these holidays because of the rowdies and the amazingly stupid things they do.
Tell the tale
Seems like they all need a campfire just to trip and stumble through and put them way to close to their FLAMABLE tents. I saw this one guy with a hatchet standing on a small piece of wood and whacking at it too close to his foot! And then there's the eternal clinking of empty beer bottles, banjo music or even worse...musical instruments. There is a bright point though. We had about 5 cars and pickups set up next to us and I thought we were going to have an awful crowd all night. But around 5 o'clock they started cooking supper. Mexican food cooked by Mexicans! Told the wife we should go over and be friendly! We did and they were. They were only there for a picnic and packed up and left by 10 pm. We had a night of crickets, coyotes, owls and wind in the pines. What nice people!
Tips and Tricks
- The summer holidays bring the yayhoos out in force with their hootin and raisin thunder. Best to stay home!
